About Dr. Rosemary Ros-Demarize
As a clinician, PCIT researcher, and parent, Dr. Rosemary Ros-Demarize has seen firsthand how Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) can transform the way families connect, communicate, and build strong, secure relationships.
During the day, Dr. Ros-Demarize serves as a Principal Investigator conducting PCIT research focused on supporting families of young children on the autism spectrum. She is passionate about bringing what works in clinical research settings directly into real homes with real families. Through her work with PCIT Experts, she helps parents use evidence-based strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and strengthen the parent-child bond.
Dr. Ros-Demarize specializes in behavioral parent training interventions that help caregivers feel more confident, calm, and effective when managing difficult child behaviors. She provides services in both English and Spanish and is committed to making high-quality, evidence-based care accessible to diverse families.
Professional Background
Dr. Ros-Demarize earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida International University and completed her postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina.
In addition to her clinical work, she is a full-time faculty member at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she conducts research, supervises trainees, and provides assessment services. Her research program focuses on behavioral interventions for young children, with particular expertise in virtual delivery of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
Dr. Ros-Demarize currently serves as the Principal Investigator on multiple research grants examining the implementation and effectiveness of virtual PCIT. Across her clinical and research roles, she has helped approximately 100 families complete PCIT.
