I believe that all children are doing their best, even when their behavior feels confusing, overwhelming, or stuck. When families come to PCIT, I often meet parents who care deeply about their children and are trying everything they know how to do, yet still feel frustrated, exhausted, or unsure of what to do next. Parenting is hard work, especially when kids don’t respond to “traditional” strategies.

Through PCIT, I help parents strengthen their connection with their child while also learning clear, effective skills that support calmer, more cooperative behavior. I see PCIT as a powerful, practical framework that gives parents guidance while honoring the deep bond between children and caregivers.

I’m especially passionate about helping families who have experienced stress or trauma find their footing again. My goal is to walk alongside families with warmth, clarity, and respect, helping parents feel confident in their role and helping children feel safer, calmer, and more connected at home. I truly want to help your family thrive, and I hope to work with you soon.

PCIT Training and Experience

Ms. Herebia initally began her training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in through UC Davis. Several years later, she further advanced her clinical application of PCIT under the supervision of Dr. Leah Clionsky. She became a Certified PCIT Therapist in 2024, meeting the rigorous standards set by PCIT International.

Genesis has provided PCIT to both English- and Spanish-speaking families in underserved communities through nonprofit health clinics. She brings extensive experience working with young children who present with attention difficulties, emotional dysregulation, challenges with transitions, anxiety, and trauma. Her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practice and a strong commitment to culturally responsive, family-centered care.

Outside the Therapy Room

A native of the Houston area, Genesis values close connections with family and friends. Outside of her clinical work, she maintains an active lifestyle through martial arts, hiking, and weightlifting. She also enjoys baking and loves sharing her creations with fellow sweet tooth enthusiasts.
